Here's a little bit about the author of this blog, Denzil Walton, in his own words:

"My career as a freelance journalist started in the UK in the early 1980s. My first article appeared in New Scientist – a humorous (at least I thought so) account of my trials trying to find employment as a science graduate in Maggie Thatcher's Britain of the 80s. It was followed by an interview with England and Manchester United footballer Steve Coppell, which appeared in the Manchester Evening News.

Articles in other UK publications followed, such as The Times, The Coventry Evening Telegraph, Home and Away, Christian Arena, and The Lady.

In Belgium I was a regular contributor in the mid-2000s to the weekly news magazine The Bulletin with my 'Nature Walks' column.

Currently I write for the weekly newspaper Flanders Today; the bimonthly magazine AWAY; B.Spirit, the in-flight magazine of Brussels Airlines; and various other publications from time to time.

Areas of special interest include (but are not limited to) travel and tourism; walking & cycling; parks & gardens; arts & crafts; nature & the environment; events and people."

"This is a very helpful site that really seems devoted to helping the unemployed secure a job; very friendly, no pressure to sign anything else or join anything else. There have been times during the past several months when I felt like you were the only ones in my corner and that meant a lot." - Joseph Fontanetta, Freelance Journalist
