Description:Chicago-based sports opinions website needs college basketball writer to produce two or three articles per week about NCAA basketball throughout the season.Main focus is Midwest programs – Big 10 schools, Notre Dame, etc. – but writer should have extensive national knowledge as approximately one of the weekly articles will address national issues. Writer should also follow Chicago schools (Loyola, UIC, etc.) and be available to attend games when press passes can be made available. No monetary compensation offered, but would be great experience for an aspiring sportswriter and writer will be able to largely determine their own topics and specific focuses (if desired). Also, we can offer internship credit to writing students, often have press passes to local sports events (college basketball, in this case) and are willing to discuss offering links to web pages of your choice as compensation. If interested, please send a writing sample to the email address on this ad. Applicants will not be considered unless a sample is included – preferably attached as a text file. IMPORTANT: This does not mean you need to have been published previously – if you need to create a sample specifically for this opportunity, that's okay; we just need to be able to see your sports writing. » Please quote Get Freelance Journalism Job when applying
