Assistant Editor for Online Lifestyle Magazine - Internship

SmashTube, a digital media and entertainment producer, is launching a top quality, comprehensive online lifestyle magazine within four months. Think the “New York Times/Vanity Fair” model with a dedicated “lifestyle-centric” focus. Seek organized, articulate and enthusiastic writer to work directly with the Editorial Management and support:
•Designing content/media layout
•Developing in-house tools and procedures to support the publishing processes
•Sourcing writers and publishers
•Editorial protocol: fact-check, proof read, copy assistance
•Building content provider relations
•Managing specific projects
Specifically,
•Establishing and managing a sharable "Project Management Schedule" that regularly tracks writer contact info, editorial team activity with writers, editorial talent and assignments, cost, contract status, due dates and directly supports editorial planning and calendar processes.
•Targeting and follow up related to formalizing content contributor relationships
•Supporting the development and organization of the editorial calendar

Work may be done remotely coupled with weekly conference calls or meetings. The position requires a commitment of 7 hours minimum per week.

May be eligible to transition to full time, competitive salary upon the launch of the site.
